August is a month for Prompts #7

 8/7: (Heart) πŸ’›πŸ’œπŸ–€

Mid autumn in a forest of deciduous trees the leaves seemed to be ablaze in their hues of red, yellow, and orange as the sun set in the eastern sky.

“That doesn’t seem right,” a broad shouldered chocolate skinned man said with purple eyes. “What do you think, Captain Mine?”

He stood on a cliff overlooking the sea of bare branches jutting from beneath the red and golden canopies. Beside him was a man with yellow circle framed glasses and a three piece suit.

Captain Mine twirled a thin black cane between his fingers and said, “That’s because it isn’t Gideon dear, the sun is supposed to set in the west.”

In Tucy, anything and everything is possible and can only be limited by your imagination. For these two men, Mine Imagination is their home and the title to their stories. Gideon’s story is of the loving, caring, and protective protagonist. Who lives in a world where people like him are discriminated against and treated like monsters.

Whereas, Captain Mine is a wild and free six century old buccaneer with a knack for anarchy and inciting chaos. As the antagonist he has a lust for terrible activities and aims to return home after being banished from space and time.

“You know,” Gideon said as he took a deep breath, “This’ll be the first and last time we appear together like this.”

“Oh noooooo,” Captain Mine droned sarcastically, “Luckily for you I left my cleaver at home.”

Gideon raised his eyebrow curiously and turned slowly, he was much larger than Mine in every aspect.

“Next time I see you we’ll be at odds.” Gideon popped his knuckles and balled his fists.

Captain Mine waved him off and said, “Take another few breaths and lower your chest, I don’t want to have to hurt you.”

Before Gideon could respond a powerful aura exploded between them. They both turned away as a bright white light cut through reality like a knife. When it dwindled a boy covered from head to toe in silhouette stood with them on the cliff. He had no face with a dazzling white smile as his only notable feature.

“Hey,” Gideon said with his signature grin like the Cheshire Cat and a wave of his hand.

“Hi,” the silhouette clad man said.

“Hello,” Mine replied with a devious smirk, “Who might you be dear?”

The silhouetted man bowed, “I’m Ezekiel Tell Tale, the narrator of Mine Imagination.”

“Ah,” Gideon said, “I thought you were my shadow.”

Ezekiel chuckled uneasily and looked at Captain Mine, “You sure he’s everyone’s last hope?”

“That’s why my book is coming out first,” Mine said as he twirled his cane, “Mine Imagination: Flight of the Hummingbirds will be T. M. A.’s debut novel. I’ll make sure to do us justice and lead by amassing the many to read about you.”

He started to laugh, he snapped and disappeared, his cackle still lingered in the distance.

Gideon shook his head, “I really don’t like that guy.”

“Good,” Ezekiel said, “He’s the greatest threat to your home. Are you prepared for his arrival?”

Gideon placed his hand behind his head and scratched innocently and said, “I’m working on it.”

Ezekiel palmed his face and groaned, “What are you still waiting around here for? Go on, get! The world is yours to save.”

Gideon huffed and said, “You’re right!” He removed a marker from his pocket and popped the top. He drew a door and a knob on the cliff side and opened it as if it were real, “I’m off.”

“Pursue your purpose at all costs,” Ezekiel said as the door shut. He sighed, “Good luck Gideon.”

Another bright light opened up behind him, a woman clad in a white silhouette appeared and said, “There you are. What ya doing?”

“I’m trying to promote our book series and complete a writing prompt.”

“Oh,” Eliza said as she swayed side to side, “What’s the prompt anyway?”

“Heart.”

“Like our surname?”

“Yep, but those other two Heart’s are going to be a handful. They’re going to tear Tucy apart and will most certainly change Mine Imagination forever.”

“And it’s all gonna start with T. M. A.’s  Flight of the Hummingbirds,” Eliza noted.

“That was my line,” Ezekiel said before they entered another bright light and disappeared.
