August is a month for Prompts #10

8/10: HOLE

“How low does it go?” Gunther asked curiously standing at the edge of a swirling abyss.

“Deep,” a voice boomed, “deep, down low.”

“Whoa,” Gunther exclaimed. He clapped his plush paws and rubbed them together, “One for the nomi, two for the gold, three for good luck...ready....set....Go!”

Gunther clenched his eyes shut and was about to jump when he stopped and asked, “How deep does it go?”

“Deep! Deep down low.”

Gunther started to laugh and stepped away from the edge, “On second thought. Maybe I should wait. Right? No rush. No pressure.”

A rumbling sigh echoed all around him, “Then why have you come?”

“It’s because of a prompt,” Gunther whined.

“Prompt or not, you’re here therefore you should be like Flow.”

Gunther’s eyes sparkled, the flame reignited in his eyes as he ran towards the depths below, he struck the ground with his tail and propelled himself forward.

He hovered over the hole and looked down with delight. He felt his tail being held and said, “Blimey, I was ready to take flight.”

“I see and I’m appreciative dear,” Captain Mine said, “However the prompt calls for a hole. Not for you to jump in it.”

Gunther started to chuckle and said, “So then we’re done here?”

“Not unless you want to go deep down low.”

Gunther shook his head and clung to his Captain’s chest, “Just play the song instead.”

Mine started to laugh and pressed the button below
